“Accellion” is a secure file transfer solution that enables you to securely and easily send and receive 2 GB or larger files/folders, which are too large to send as email attachments, by utilizing SSL and file encryption capabilities. When a sender uploads files through your web browser or familiar email client onto the “Accellion” server, an email message is sent to a recipient along with a secure link and the files can be downloaded by clicking the link. Furthermore, Accellion has an automated file transfer feature that helps improve operational efficiency, and is also equipped with features that allow you to keep track of the files sent/received (i.e., when and what files have been sent/received and by whom) and that ensure the files have not been tampered with, thus providing enhanced security. It can also eliminates the need to burn large data onto media such as CDs as well as reduce the amount of data transfer via normal email attachments, leading to the improvement in email servers.
