About Netropy Series

Netropy series emulators are designed to conduct verification tests on applications under various network conditions which can be simulated without connecting to real WAN lines. By emulating bandwidth limitations, delays, packet losses, and other network conditions in the Netropy emulation engine, application performance can be easily determined. Up to 15 separate links can be emulated in each emulation engine. and each link can be configured with separate bandwidth, delay, loss, and other conditions. Packets are filtered to the different links by sender or receiver IP address range, VLAN, MAC addresses, or other packet identifier, making it possible to emulate complex network environments. All Netropy models are easily configured via Web browser.

* Emulator: A tool which emulates a system, hardware, or environment. Apposite Technologies’ WAN emulator is a tool which emulates the conditions of wide area networks to test application performance.

As a result of the explosive increase of the amount of data being handled, 10 Gbps networks are rapidly become popular to connect datacenters and major corporate offices. Netropy 10G2 is designed for testing applications on such 10 Gbps networks.
