Message from President & CEO

Sustainability Rikei Aims to Attain

Rikei Group’s basic policy is “to contribute to the development of a highly information-oriented society by supplying solutions meeting the needs of our customers with ideas and advanced technologies well ahead of expected social changes.” We have been working to demonstrating ESG (environmental, social and governance) practices to attract investment and helping achieve carbon neutrality across a range of businesses while also working towards the SDGs.

To attract ESG investment, we are environmentally conscious and aim to resolve social issues in our business practices, and regarding carbon neutrality, we are participating in the GX League* organized by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry and its specific initiatives are on our website. With regard to the SDGs, we participate in the regional revitalization SDGs public-private platform initiatives (J-Alert disaster prevention system) and The Japanese Geotechnical Society (development of VR for a simulated experience of evacuation from a landslide caused by heavy rains and disaster education). We have been providing updates on the progress made with these initiatives.

*GX League: a forum for discussing and implementing a transformation of the entire economic and social system, namely a green transformation (GX), which is an initiative to change the present economic and social system—that is, the economic, social, and industrial structures depending mainly on fossil fuels—to a system chiefly using clean energy and to achieve sustainable growth

Our Policy on the Development and Utilization of Human Capital

We will continue to invest in human capital, human resources indispensable to corporate growth, to develop diverse talent and protect intellectual property. In doing so, we will seek to ensure our competitive advantage based on our strengths, including our sales and technological capabilities. We aim to contribute to achieving a sustainable society as a partner that makes customers’ dreams come true.

We have shifted from a conventional method of assigning new employees to departments based on the requests of the employees and departments, to a method that utilizes AI as a part of driving digital transformation to appropriately invest in and develop human capital. With this method, AI makes visible education, communication, and human relations within departments. We are applying the method to employees with less than five years of service.

To develop young and mid-level employees, we provide opportunities for them to receive training from the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry and other external organizations. We hire diverse, talented individuals as core personnel regardless of their nationality, gender, or age.

Sustainability for the Medium to Long Term

The themes of the current medium-term management plan are from stable business to expansion and improving profitability (ROE). The management policy emphasizes structural reform, the strengthening of the business base, corporate value, and social contribution. We are striving to achieve sustainable corporate growth.

The themes of our basic policy for our sustainability strategy are ESG investment, the SDGs, carbon neutrality, diversity, human capital, and intellectual property, all of which were mentioned above. We will announce individual initiatives and progress annually.

Rikei will support regional revitalization through collaboration with other companies and local governments.

Major solution
Disaster prevention information system linked to J-Alert

The system is a solution that integrates information from multiple sources, including disaster management radio communications, which are primarily used during disasters, information sent to registered e-mail addresses, area e-mail systems, social media platforms, and websites, and sends integrated information. The system reduces the work of disaster prevention personnel of local governments and promptly provides disaster prevention information to residents.
