Rikei Corporation (Head Office: Shinjuku-ku, Tokyo, President & CEO: Katsuei Aoyagi) would like to announce it started to sell network emulators “Netropy series”) developed and produced by Apposite Technologies, Inc. (Head Office: California, USA, President: DC Palter), from May 1, 2010.

Netropy series are testers which are designed to be able to emulate various network environments very easily by providing various conditions such as delay, packet loss, etc. and are advanced models of the previous models named WAN emulators Linktropy series.

Previous models are designed to be able to emulate one-to-one network environments, but these new models Netropy are designed to be able to emulate full-mesh network environments. With these new models, you now can emulate more complex network environments as they allow you to add up to 15 network paths on a simulated WAN. Moreover, as it also allows you to emulate WAN conditions for each path and conditions at the gateway, you can produce environments which are near real network environments. You can also operate these new models easily via a Web interface like previous models.

Netropy series consist of three models – Netropy N60, Netropy N80 and Netropy 10G. They are classified as follows depending on the number of WAN environments whose bandwidth can be emulated and which can be emulated by one model unit.

Rikei plans to aggressively promote and sell these new models to communications carriers, system integrators and manufacturers of network-related products. Prices range from Yen 1,000,000.

Linktropy Series Model Change

As a successor model for previous model Linktropy 4500, a new model Linktropy 5500 has been released. Linktropy 5500 features the ability to emulate one link with max. 1Gbps and with max. packet rate of 1,000,000PPS. As Linktropy 5500 has realized support for up to 1Gbps, Rikei stops to handle Linktropy 7500. (As for Linktropy 7500PRO which can emulate up to 4 links simultaneously, Rikei continues to handle.)
