Rikei Starts to Sell TIFAK First Aid Kit For Emergency Use Concludes Distributor Agreement with TACMEDA Association
Rikei Corporation (Head Office: Shinjuku-ku, Tokyo; President & CEO: Satoru Isaka; hereinafter “Rikei”) is pleased to announce that it has concluded a distributor agreement with the general incorporated association TACMEDA (President: Motoki Terui; hereinafter “TACMEDA”) and started to sell the compact and lightweight, self-carried TIFAK first-aid kit for emergencies (“hereinafter “TIFAK”).
Market Background
Recently, the government has decided to assign new missions to Japan Ground Self-Defense Force troops taking part in United Nations peacekeeping operations (PKO), including so-called “rush and rescue” missions. This exposes dispatched troops to an even greater risk of traumatic injury. Even in Japan, concerns over a terrorist attack that could strike anywhere in the world have only increased, and as part of anti-terrorist preparations in the lead-up to 2020 in particular, drills will need to be conducted to prepare against the risk of traumatic injuries from potential attacks in the future.
Even when life-threatening injuries are suffered during such an emergency or terror attack, the survival rate of injured people can be increased through the appropriate application of regular first aid.
TIFAK is the world’s thinnest package containing a careful selection of nine first aid materials that have proven themselves around the world as essential for quickly providing first aid in the event of gunshot wounds, blast trauma or stabbing injuries.
Product Overview
TIFAK is the lightest of its type in the world. It contains nine first aid items that are essential for the provision of first aid, including compression type hemostatic bandages whose bonding and hemostatic capabilities are unaffected even when immersed in water, gauze made from materials that promote blood coagulation, and vacuum compressed bandages. The package is thin enough to be carried in a pocket, with the items arranged in vacuum packaged form in the order they would be used.
