Rikei Launches Wireless-Network Building System, Effective in Disaster Emergencies
Integration Rikei’s sXGP Wireless Device with “LEGASiP Mini” from Nitto Telecommunications Enables Voice Call Between Different Type of Devices including Transceivers and Smartphones
Rikei Corporation (Headquarters: Shinjuku-ku, Tokyo; President & CEO: Satoru Isaka; hereinafter “Rikei”) is pleased to announce that the company has started to offer total solution that enable voice calls between different type of terminals including transceivers, landline, and cell phones as well as simultaneous emergency-notice transmission from municipalities, by connecting “LEGASiP Mini,” a Voice Integration Solution(*1) from Nitto Telecommunications Co., (Headquarters: Sendai City, Miyagi; President & CEO: Shintarou Takahashi; hereinafter “Nitto Telecommunications”) and Rikei’s sXGP(*2) wireless device.
Outline of the Solution
LEGASiP Mini is Voice Integration Solution that enables voice calls between different communication methods such as landlines, cell phones, and transceivers.
Meanwhile, Rikei’s sXGP compact wireless device can easily build an extension telephone network using cell phones and enables data communication as well as SMS transmission.
Combining the two systems allows to build extension telephone network that connect local governments’ transceivers for disaster emergency use and commonly used cell phones. In addition, the system can be connected to disaster prevention systems to diversify communication methods, such as broadcasting via disaster prevention administrative radio as well as simultaneous notification to transceivers and cell phones.
The connection between the sXGP and the cell phone used in the system has a maximum range of 600m outside (depends on conditions).
Expected usage
Voice call between devices such as disaster site transceivers and telephones that previously could not be connected.
Building an extension network at disaster sites where cell phones are unavailable.
Transmitting image data from disaster sites to disaster control (requires backbone building with FWA).
Voice communication use in areas with no cell phone reception, including construction sites and factories.
Features
・Compatible with municipalities’ disaster prevention radio
Capable of making broadcasts through municipalities’ disaster-prevention-radio speakers.
・Simultaneous emergency notification
Sends emergency notifications simultaneously to all devices, including transceivers, cell phones, and PA systems.
・Prompt VoLTE extension network building
Ensures no packet loss unlike VoIP, and does not require application start-up, thus conserving smartphone batteries.
・Compact size for easy carrying
Future Development
Rikei will make tailored proposals for fields where easy and quick voice/data communication system construction is necessary, including municipalities, fire departments, construction sites, and factories.
